Helping at a BWB Breech Training Day

Interested in supporting one of our trainers during a hands-on training day? Here's what the role looks like.

Our hands-on training days are full, busy days — trainers spend hours guiding midwives, OBs, nurses, and students through breech maneuvers on our birth model. It's a lot to carry on their own, which is where a helper comes in.

What the role actually looks like

Our instructors spend the whole day working with the simulator, and it's more physically demanding than it looks. A helper is by their side the entire time, making the simulations run smoothly so the training itself can shine. You might be asked to spray the simulator with water, re-apply lube on the simulator, get the instructor something to drink, and assist with anything else that is needed at the moment.

Before the training day

• Text the instructor to coordinate arrival, parking, and anything else they'd like from you

On the training day

• Arrive about 45 minutes early to help the instructor unload and set up the simulator

• Stand beside the instructor during the hands-on sessions, spraying and lubricating the simulator as needed, and helping with visualization

• Keep an eye on the clock for the day's breaks (a short morning break, an hour for lunch, and a short afternoon break)

• Arrange lunch for yourself and the instructor during the break, if needed (we will reimburse the cost of lunch for you)

• Help pack up, clean, and load the model back into the car at the end of the day, as requested by the instructor

Time commitment

It's a full day — usually from around 7:15 am to 6:30 pm, though exact times depend on the location and will be confirmed ahead of the training.

Important!

Being a helper means being right there in the room — but it's not a spot in the training itself. You'll be an observer for the day, not a participant, and this isn't a way to join the course for free.
