Miguel de Sousa Mendes, MD

I am an obstetrician-gynecologist at core with a strong activist backbone in sexual and maternal health and rights, be it in high-income or humanitarian aid contexts.

I focus on Fetal Medicine, vaginal breech birth, infectious diseases and human rights in pregnancy and childbirth. Along my clinical path, I have gathered experience in project leadership, medical training and anti-discrimination activism.

I've lived, studied and worked in 4 different continents, including work with Doctors Without Borders, and am proficient in 5 languages. I am also board registered in Germany, France and Portugal.

Last but not least: a proud father of two (and soon to be three!).
