Firas Cha'ban, MD

Firas was born in Sofia, Bulgaria to a Bulgarian mother and Syrian father who met at the Medical University of Sofia. He came to Belgium at the age of 8 and went to primary and secondary school in Antwerp. He then obtained a bachelor's and master's in medical studies at Antwerp University. He did basic OB/GYN training at Klina General Hospital, where he assisted his first breech delivery. He then did one year of general surgery, one full year of Prenatal Diagnosis at the University Hospital of Rotterdam, and one final year of OB/GYN at the Antwerp University Hospital. 

He started private practice at St Vincent hospital in 1997. Firas has delivered more than 10,000 babies during his career and specializes in breech, twins, VBAC, and laparoscopic surgery. In 2020, he started a breech service at St. Vincentius. He is married and the father of 3 girls.
